    Survivor Series!!

Saturday, November 22, 2008, 04:13 PM EST [General]

It's almost that time again. The annual Thanksgiving Tradition. I am really happy to see the WWE get back to the classic Survivor Series format. I love the team vs. team format. It brings back so many memories of the past. Who can forget about the return of John Cena is his hometown of Boston.  Just like so many times in the past, history will be made in The Garden. It's the Celtics and the Lakers, the Bruins and the Penquins. It will be electric!!!! Should be a great weekend and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

HS ALMA MATER TO STATE AGAIN

Saturday, November 22, 2008, 04:02 PM EST [General]

Until the arrival of Vince Suriano in the late 80s, postseason football and Anderson High School were two things that were never included in the same sentence.  Then, starting in 1992, Anderson had a rare, undefeated season and made it into the Division I playoffs (beating Princeton before finally losing to St. Xavier).  Since then, playoffs have been on the mind of many high school football fans on the east side.  And, even though they maybe didn't make it each year, or went out in one round, it was always a possibility under Suriano.   Then, two years ago Suriano moved onto take a job at Mount St. Joseph and his long-time assistant Jeff Giesting took over.  Coinciding with that, Anderson's student numbers dropped down to where they had to move to Division II.   Now, Giesting has had the good fortune of back-to-back trips to the state finals as Anderson has moved on again after Friday night's win over Columbus Desales 14-10.  That puts the defending state champion Redskins back in the final now in Massillon and that means this alum gets another trip to Stark County!   As a '79 graduate, I'm proud to support my school and have my kids take part in history.  My two older sons are also grads and I've got two more to go.   I never in a million years would've guessed the school that I live about two minutes from would be such a part of history.

    As for the game....

    (Photo: Cincinnati Enquirer/Jeff Swinger)

That's Kyle Slater.  So far, no one has been able to stop Anderson's offensive line or him when they're healthy.   Anderson had two regular season losses and they've been fortunate to avenge them both in the post season with healthier players (Winton Woods and Desales).  Now it's on to Paul Brown Tiger Stadium in Massillon and Sylvania Southview.   Don't know a thing about'em...don't care.  I'm going to watch the Redskins roll!

"EL TORITO Y DON FRANCISCO EN UNA FOTO NO CORRESPONDIDA"

Saturday, November 22, 2008, 10:01 PM CET [General]

    Suvivor Series

Saturday, November 22, 2008, 03:47 PM EST [General]

As we are getting closer to Survivor Series I would like to make a prediction on what will happen during the Pay Per View.

John Cena vs. Chris Jericho (WHC Match)

John Cena wins. I believe Cena will win because of his home town advantage. I don't think they are going to have John Cena loose in his home town like they did with Edge vs. Cena. Cena has also had alot of rest where as Chris Jericho has been in Steel Cage and Last Man Standing matches in the past few weeks.

Team Micheals vs. Team JBL (Traditional Elimination Match)

Team Micheals wins. I think Team Micheals will win for 1 reason. The Great Khali. The only person on Team JBL who would stand a chance at eliminating Khali is Kane. But a few years back at Wrestlemania Khali defeated Kane with out to much of a struggle.

Team Orton vs. Team Batista (Traditional Elimination Match)

Team Orton wins. I think Team Orton will wins this because of the way they can work together. We saw on ECW Henry, Cody Rhodes and William Regle dominate not that long ago. But if anything lets them down it will be Orton and Rhodes not being able to work together.

SmackDown Divas vs. Raw Divas (Traditional Elimination Match

Team Raw wins. I think Team Raw will win because there are less arguments between them Divas at the moment than what there is at Team SmackDown. But for the Raw Divas to win Micky James and Beth Phoenix will have to work together and put their differences aside. At SmackDown at the moment Michelle McCool isn't getting along with any of those Divas, which will make it harder for them to work together.

Triple H vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Vladimir Koslov (WWE Championship Match)

Vladimir Koslov wins. Vladimir will win because he simply is unstopable. He destroyed both Jeff Hardy and Triple H on SmackDown this week and when they have teamed up and got rid of him before they could bearly do it so how can they do it alone when Jeff is in a state where it looks like he won't be able to work with anyone.

Big Show vs. Undertaker (Casket Match)

Undertaker Wins. The casket match is Undertakers specialty. He is also quite dominate at Survivor Series. We saw on SmackDown this week when Vickie was in the Casket Big Show seemed scared of the casket which will give Undertaker an advantage.

We'll those are my opinions. Tell me what you think.

    Brilliant Bokke...........Deleted

Saturday, November 22, 2008, 08:43 PM GMT [General]

Well, I was about to publish a blog complete with illustrations on todays rugby, looking at the current front page I don't think I'll bother.

    It started like this:-

What can you say, 5 tries, 42 points and the worst ever defeat by England at Twickenham.

And 20 minutes with only 14 men!

A performance truely worthy of World Champions..................................

I'm just watching the match now ... a lot of ferocious tackling by the Springboks and really big hits. Also a great try by the centre (forget his name).

    Evening Brendano

A great end to the year, a real class performance, especially as Martin Johnson has been talking England up all week (after the Australia game)

    Why you watching our game?

I've got France v Australia on at the moment!

Your thinking of Adri Jacobs, but just for the record here's all of them "Springboks scoring five tries through Danie Rossouw, Ruan Pieenaar, Adrian Jacobs, Jaque Fourie and Bryan Habana" (from www.thetimes.co.za/News/A...)
